South Carolina Couples Intensives

Private Couples Therapy Intensives in South Carolina

Private couples therapy intensives with Chad Stiles, PhD, LMFT are available to eligible couples in South Carolina through virtual treatment and individually arranged private in-person settings.

You can consider the format that supports your clinical needs without beginning with a destination. The work centers on recurring relationship patterns, difficult emotional responses, and practicing a different way of engaging. An appropriate coastal setting may be an option, but psychotherapy remains the purpose of your time together.

Protected Clinical Time

Choose the clinical work first.

More time for the pattern, not just the argument. An intensive provides protected clinical time to understand the cycle between you, including escalation, withdrawal, triggers, and the feelings beneath repeated conflict. It is private couples psychotherapy, with one couple participating at a time.

Chad’s relational and systemic orientation considers how both partners’ responses shape the interaction. The goal is to explore the pattern rather than choose a winner in the argument. Slowing things down and practicing different responses are part of that work.

Weekly therapy and intensive therapy serve different needs. A concentrated format may appeal when concerns need continuity or when weekly appointments are difficult to protect. Whether it is clinically appropriate remains a separate question from whether the schedule or setting is appealing.

Virtual Care

Virtual Couples Intensives in South Carolina

Virtual intensives may be available to eligible clients physically located in South Carolina at the time of service. Each partner’s physical location and the applicable licensure requirements must be confirmed. Being a resident does not by itself establish eligibility for treatment while traveling elsewhere.

One-Day Virtual Couples Intensive

$2,000

A focused goal or relatively defined relationship pattern may fit one day of virtual work. This can provide time to follow a recurring conversation closely and practice responses within an appropriately bounded clinical focus.

Two-Day Virtual Couples Intensive

$3,500

When longstanding or interconnected concerns require additional pacing, regulation, practice, and integration, two days may be considered. The choice depends on the work and clinical fit, not an assumption that two days is always better.

Individually Arranged Care

Private In-Person Couples Intensives in South Carolina

Two-Day Private In-Person Couples Intensive

$6,000

Private in-person intensives may be arranged in South Carolina. Treatment settings are selected individually for privacy, clinical appropriateness, availability, and scheduling. A possible area is a starting point for discussion, not a confirmed office or venue.

The $6,000 fee covers the clinical intensive. Therapist travel and location expenses may apply and are discussed and agreed upon before scheduling. These additional therapist costs depend on the confirmed arrangement.

Couples arrange and pay for their own lodging, transportation, airfare or driving costs, meals, recreation, hospitality, and other personal travel expenses. Those services are not included, and Chad does not book them for the couple.

The setting supports the work; it is not the treatment. The service is psychotherapy, not a retreat or vacation package.

A Possible Coastal Option

Considering a Coastal South Carolina Setting?

Myrtle Beach may be one possible area for an individually arranged intensive when clinically and logistically appropriate. Coastal settings depend on the availability of an appropriate private treatment space, privacy, and scheduling.

Chad does not maintain a permanent Myrtle Beach office. No resort, hotel, restaurant, or venue affiliation is implied, and no lodging, meals, recreation, or hospitality is included. A preferred coastal area does not confirm a particular location or date.

The same $6,000 clinical fee applies. Any therapist travel or location expenses are agreed upon before scheduling; your personal travel remains separate.

When an Intensive May Help

When a focused period of therapy may make sense

Recurring arguments, pursue/withdraw patterns, communication breakdowns, and emotional disconnection can prompt couples to seek concentrated help. Sometimes both partners can identify the cycle afterward but struggle to respond differently while it unfolds.

The fit conversation can also address trust ruptures or betrayal, trauma-related relationship patterns, and several interconnected concerns. Scheduling pressures may make weekly therapy difficult, but that does not make every couple appropriate for an intensive. Outcomes are not guaranteed.

How intensives help with relationship patterns

The Clinical Process

What happens in the treatment room or virtual session

  1. Clarify the concerns and the goals for working together.
  2. Identify the recurring interaction cycle that keeps bringing you back to conflict or distance.
  3. Explore triggers, emotions, and protective responses beneath that cycle.
  4. Slow interactions down so escalation and withdrawal can be examined more closely.
  5. Practise different responses and communication in the clinical session.
  6. Integrate the work and discuss appropriate next steps.

Pacing is individual. Clinical needs, safety, regulation, and what emerges determine how the time is used. There is no promise that a particular topic will be resolved within a day or that a change of setting produces change in the relationship.

Clinical Fit

Safety comes before scheduling.

Screening takes place before scheduling. Active or recent interpersonal violence, coercive control, intimidation or threats, severe instability, untreated substance-use concerns that interfere with safe participation, or situations where either partner cannot speak freely are not appropriate for couples intensive work. Requesting care does not guarantee acceptance.

Privacy and Discretion

Private to your couple, with professional boundaries.

There are no groups or shared programming; the intensive is private to your couple. Privacy may be particularly important with demanding professional, leadership, community, or public-facing responsibilities. The service remains open to any clinically appropriate couple who values concentrated care. Standard legal and ethical limits to psychotherapy confidentiality still apply.

Do not send protected health information or sensitive clinical details through standard email or scheduling notes. Discuss privacy questions during the fit consultation.

In-Person Planning

Discuss the setting before you plan the trip

  1. Start with clinical fit, physical-location requirements, and the format that may suit the concerns.
  2. If in-person care is appropriate, discuss the South Carolina general location and possible private treatment settings.
  3. Confirm the treatment setting and dates, and agree on any therapist travel or location expenses before scheduling.
  4. Then make and pay for your own lodging, transport, and other personal travel arrangements.

Couples should not make nonrefundable travel arrangements until the treatment location and dates have been confirmed.

Questions Before Beginning

Planning care in South Carolina

Must an in-person intensive take place on the coast?

No. Coastal settings may be considered when appropriate, but a private in-person arrangement depends on clinical needs, privacy, availability, and scheduling. A virtual format may also be appropriate when eligibility requirements are met.

Is a hotel stay part of the intensive?

No lodging, meals, recreation, or hospitality is included in the clinical fee. You arrange and pay for personal travel separately. No hotel, resort, restaurant, or other venue affiliation is implied.

Can we reserve travel while a setting is being discussed?

Wait until the treatment location and dates have been confirmed before making nonrefundable arrangements. Discussing a preferred area does not confirm a treatment setting or an available date.
